Getting to Know Media Sol

Name: Amanda Fredriksen

Title: Media Buyer

Background: University of Nevada, Reno Glass Agency (Formerly Glass McClure), 4 years.

Years at Media Sol: 3 years, 3 months

Accounts you work on: Papa Murphy’s and Future mostly

What was your first account/assignment at Media Solutions?   I believe my first big assignment was to put together the 2011 recap of the Department of Boating and Waterways in a PowerPoint.  I remember it being a huge task!

What was your most memorable campaign/promotion?    I can’t narrow it down to just one.  We have done so many things here that we put so much time and effort into.  When we actually get to see them come to life, it’s awesome!

What was your first job in media?  As far back as I can remember, I worked for my grandma at her advertising agency in Vegas.  Pretty sure the first “paid” job was dressing up as McDonald’s characters (Birdie, Grimace, The Hamburglar)…  Does that count?!  If not, I worked at Telemundo in Vegas for a while back in high school (1999-2000ish)…  you know, back when you had to physically pick up tapes and checks. =)

What did you want to be when you were small?  An Aerospace Engineer.  (My dad worked for NASA)

What TV shows do you watch?  Currently watching Mad Men, Revenge, Bachelor, Hart of Dixie.  Just finished Parenthood… that was good!

Do you have any hidden talents? I can juggle multiple ways.  (Thanks, Ronald McDonald!)

What’s the first thing you do when you get wake up and when you get home? The first thing I do when I wake up is make my bed. At the end of the day, I immediately change into comfortable (publically unacceptable) clothes to lounge around the house.

Where is your favorite family vacation? Cabo.  Even if I feel like we’ve been there 100 times, it’s still fun.   To be honest… put me on any beach with an umbrella cocktail and I’m happy.

What are your hobbies? Riding my cruiser around town, working out, snowboarding, kickball, crafts, watching football (go Niners!), cooking, baking, taking weekend trips…  I like to be busy.

What song would you sing at Karaoke? I could be talked into many songs.  My sister has talked me into “Summer Lovin” from the Grease soundtrack on more than one occasion.
