Get To Know Aaron!

Name: Aaron Samson

Title: Account Executive

Background: Marketing/Communications/Public Relations

Years at Media Sol: 2+ years

Accounts you work on: Future Automotive, Californians for Safety & Justice, UC Davis, and any other account that needs a digital strategist.

What was your first account/assignment at Media Solutions: I started by managing the production, traffic, and delivery to stations of all monthly sales spots for the Future Automotive Group.

What was your most memorable campaign: Probably the first media campaign we did for Californians For Safety & Justice, because it was the first campaign I really took the lead on after starting at Media Solutions.

What was your first job in media? This one!

What are you currently reading? I just finished Cary Elwes’s memoirs on making The Princess Bride, and haven’t found a new book yet!

If money and time weren’t an issue, what passion would you pursue? I would split my time between world travel and wilderness backpacking. I’d love to hike the entire Pacific Crest Trail.

What’s the first thing you do when you get wake up and get home? I wish my days had that level of consistency. Waking up alternates between: Going back to sleep; my morning cup of coffee; yoga. Coming home alternates between: Sinking into my favorite chair; making a nice dinner; playing piano; exercising.

What’s your most favorite place you’ve traveled? I have to answer that question in two parts. The most unique and memorable place I’ve ever been was Nepal – Kathmandu was like something straight out of an Indiana Jones movie, and that was in 2010! But the most fun I’ve ever had while traveling was in Spain – I ran with the bulls in Pamplona, watched Spain win the World Cup in Madrid, and even had an international romance!

What is your favorite restaurant in town? That’s easy – Frank Fat’s downtown.

What is your proudest moment? I’ve been lucky enough to have a lot of proud moments in my life; since they’ve all been major contributors toward where I am now, I don’t know that I can rank one above any others.

First song that comes to mind? Pink Floyd’s “The Great Gig In The Sky”.
